Additional Resources

While the lean principles have been around for better than half a century, the application of them to startups is just gearing up. Thus there are lots of bits and pieces floating around but there's "some assembly required" to put them all together (the exact reason we've put The Lean Startup Primer together). Here's an annotated list of some of the best resources we've found for learning more about Lean Startups.

Eric Ries' Blog
While it takes some work to extract it, much of the best information out there is currently in blog format. Eric coined the phrase "Lean Startup" and his writing is chock-full of great stuff.
Steve Blank's Blog
Steve Blank champions Customer Development, which is one of the key pieces of running a Lean Startup. He's been doing this stuff for a long time, and has some amazing war stories to share.
Lean Thinking
The book to read if you want to understand what all this "lean" talk is about. Lays out what lean manufacturing is all about, using example after example to drive the lessons home. While it doesn't address a lot of the startup needs, the principles that underly Lean Startups are woven throughout.
Venture Hacks
Fantastic content that trends towards lean. Includes an ongoing series that is providing Steve Blank's Customer Development course in episodic audio format!
Four Steps To The Ephiphany
The course text for the aforementioned Steve Blank course.
Lean Startup Circle
A fairly new community formed around Lean Startups. Definitely hop on the Google Group - lots of great information being shared.
Timothy Fitz's Blog
Timothy writes a lot about the technical side of running a Lean Startup, including hot topics like continuous deployment.
Getting Real
A lot of what 37signals espouses in Getting Real is a set of techniques for running a Lean Startup - definitely worth a read (or two or three).
